The Genealogy Room is a non-circulating library of over 5,000 historical reference books, genealogical records, and original documents. While the collection is a significant source of information on the history of Kern County and that of its citizens, the holdings are not limited to local research. It also provides resources for those researching other states or countries. There is no fee to use the collection. There is, however, a charge of $.15 per page for copies.
The genealogy room of the Beale Memorial Library is staffed by volunteers of the the society. It is located on the second floor of the Beale Memorial Library at 701 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, CA.
